Feature and Follow #30 - Or the One Where I'm Embarrased

So, Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and AlisonCanRead. It's where you answer the weekly question and then link yourself and you go and check out other blogs of your interest, helping to support out endeavors as a community. Also, do it just because it's fun! :)

Q:  What book are you embarrassed to admit that you LOVED? (Try to think beyond Twilight.)

A:  I guess it's a good thing I'm NOT a Twilight fan!  But yeah, probably the thing I'm most ashamed of reading would be re-imaginings/sequels to Pride and Prejudice.  I have an insanely MAJOR weakness for them (I love most re-imaginings/sequels but these are my Kryptonite), as I always want something Elizabeth/Darcy related to read.  And I will review it on my blog, I just don't go advertising to someone unless I know they read them too.  Probably the only thing I really actively don't mention as people (even other readers tend to be judgey about Austen sequels, especially purists like my own brother!).   Other than that, if you ask me what I'm reading I'll showcase it to you and booktalk till I'm blue in the face - if it's a good one! :)  Speaking of which, here are few of the good Austen sequels/re-tellings (just to get over it a little bit more):

I can't wait to see your "embarrassing" books and I hope you have a great Friday!  Thanks so much for stopping by! :)  I do prefer Bloglovin' follows, but am also trying to build up my Facebook and Twitter followings (especially my Facebook page).  All the links are on the right sidebar! <3

  1. Nice! Never read the classic myself. But enjoying a sequel doesn't sound horrible!

  3. I'm more of a purist but I have a few classic retellings on my tbr all the same. I've never heard of any of these spin-offs, the one on Mary Bennet looks particularly interesting -- I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for visiting/following my blog, I'm following back via bloglovin'

  5. I'm embarrassed to say that although one of my favorite books is Pride and Prejudice I have absolutely no idea that there were sequels made by other authors. *blush* I picked 2 children's book series for mine My Feature

  6. I don't mind retellings or sequels to classics as long as they're well written. I loved Scarlett by Alexandra Ripley that continued Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

  8. Hopping through. Have you read the Pamela Aidan books re-imagining P&P from Darcy's POV? I think they're the best of all the P&P retellings.

Comments are much appreciated and I always read them with a smile on my face! :) While I appreciate the thought, this an award-free blog as well. I just don't have the time to keep up with it. Thank you for my smiles and please share your thoughts! Also, sorry for the Captcha, but I've been getting a lot of spam lately!
