Q: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?
A: I seem to be a masochist or something, because I am the type of person who HAS NO CHOICE except to finish a series once I've started it! So as long as the first book wasn't 1/5 Stars or less, I'll read a series until it's done. Even when I know I'll almost completely hate it and I vow not to do it. Case in point: Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga # 4). But I actually ended up liking that one the best in the series (even thought that's not saying much really), because the love triangle was executed thoroughly and dumped in the trash. I could definitely do without the creepy baby/werewolf lovin' though! What about you guys, do you ever read books that you think you'll hate?
Lol, I thought I was the only one. I just have to know how it ends.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF.
I liked the Twilight saga but I know what you mean. Once I commit to a series, then I read it to it's end.

Haha. I actually thought the baby/wolf relationship was the least creepy one of the bunch. Probably the one with the smallest age-gap. XD

Haha I used to be like that too! I was majorly OCD with finishing books/series that I had already started. However, now that my TBR pile is sky high, I'm forced to skip books that I know I won't like.

Daphne @ Reading Until Dawn
I read up until that book, but I couldn't get through the wedding. It was awkward. I'm not a big fan of weddings in general, so that probably factored into it. I heard about the baby/wolf lovin' thing and am unsure how I feel about it.

Ahh, I almost didn't read Breaking Dawn and then wished I hadn't when I was finished. I ended up liking it the least in the series. Though, most people I know liked it best. :) Thanks for stopping by GingerRead!
ReplyDeleteI was one of the few that actually liked that book. It might not have been the best solution to end the triangle (though... was it ever really a triangle to begin with? lol) but other than that, I liked everything else about it.

My Follow Friday
I am the exact same way for finishing series....I really can't not know how it'll end so like you, as long as it isn't a one-star read, I'll usually keep going. AND like you, Breaking Dawn was my favorite out of the Twilight books - because the stupid love-triangle was gone and Bella finally freaking changed! Awesome answer, thanks for stopping by & following via NB earlier ♥ Sorry I was a bit slow to get back but am now also following via NB AND GFC :)
